This week on Jan.11 I turned the big 55, you know, senior citizen stuff. I'm not real happy about the age but life if good. I been out of the JWs now for 5 years with no contact from witness relatives. I started calling some of my mothers brothers and sisters who are not witnesses. Since I was raised as a witness from infancy, I never was allowed to cultivate a relationship with worldly relatives. I always thought my Uncle Cliff was special. He got me my first knife, my first ball glove, and took me shooting pistols for the first time. However, as I got older and more JW involved, I saw less and less of Uncle Cliff. He was the rounder with the common-law wife who cussed and told a dirty joke from time to time. There was no place in my life as an elder and pioneer for him or any of my worldly relatives. After pulling my head out of my ass, I went in search of lost relatives. I've never been so loved and so readily forgiven by these wonderful people. I needed them to forgive me for not loving them they way I should have. I sent them all Christmas gifts for the first time this past December. I can't tell you in words how much it meant to them and the expressions of endearment I received from them. These are people in their late sixties and early seventys who were shut out of my life for over 40 years. Anyway, on Jan. 11, I received a birthday card from Uncle Cliff. I literally wept profusely at the words on the card (To My Very Special Nephew). You probably think this sounds stupid, but that card was the highlight of my birthday. Uncle Cliff and I talk on the phone every couple of weeks and we laugh a lot. At 74 he still tells a dirty joke once and a while, he don't go to church, he loves his mules and horses and me. I'm so glad I found him. He always was and will be my favorite Uncle.

DAMNED CONSCIENCE:JW Hypocrites Who Take Blood Products
by steve2 inthe blood letters by r jensen made riveting reading.
thank you to the posters who advised about the availability of these letters: a lone elders attempts to elicit some sense from the rigidly nonsensical watchtower's pick-and-choose blood transfusion doctrine.
the guy was probably doomed from the start, but i so admire his persistence and courage!

I have asked several witnesses the same question concerning their donating their own blood for the use of blood fractions. The usual reply is some blank stare followed by a refusal to comment. Most witnesses never think that donated blood is required for their medical benefits. I bet a witness wouldn't donate their own horse's blood, and yet the blood of horses is used to make treatments for venomous snake bites. I recently discussed this with a local elder's wife while she was at work. I basically accused her of straining at the knat and gulping down the camel. She appeared to be very foolish with her responses in front of her work mates in defense of the JWs. She was also shocked at some of the information I provided in our discussion letting me know that the average witness was just as ignorant as I was when I was in the organization. Every time I have seen this lady since this discussion she just looks at the floor in my presence. One of her workmates says she's been very quiet since this discussion and that she seems very depressed and cries on a reqular basis for no apparent reason. Maybe she's feeling a little lost right now. One of the things that troubled me most and made me question the organization was their twisted viewpoint on blood. Truly the blind are leading the blind and I hope we can continue to extend a helping hand to those who are trying to crawl out of the ditch.

Getting even with the WTS
by greendawn inafter being emotionally traumatised by the wts through their shunning policy due to being disfellowshipped or disassociated, or because of other issues that hurt you as a jw, did you manage to get even with them by harming their interests for example by helping jws to leave or directing interested persons away from them or any other way?

I've spent the last five years doing payback for the grief they've caused me. Sometimes when I get in a real bad mood I find an unsuspecting local witness to vent my anger upon. Since I'm not from this area and no one knows my witness connections, I can have a little fun playing with their heads. There are a lot of witnesses in this area and I frequent some of the places they work. The other day I suckered an elder's wife into a conversation by pretending to be at a loss as to how cope with all the horrific things going on in the world and all those natural disasters that were hurting mankind. Her comeback was these are the last days and fulfillment of Bible prophecy crap. That's when the fun began. After her volunteering the name of her religion I told her I had been raised around some JW relatives and was familiar with their history. After reminding her of over 125 years of failed prophecy by JWs I then started to ask her about the UN involvement and that they had disfellowshipped one of my relatives for bringing the subject up to his elders. I then attacked her stand on blood stressing their consent to using blood fractions. After asking her if she would donate blood and she said no, I then asked her why witnesses let other people donate blood from which derivatives were taken for their benefit. In front of others in her workplace I said that she was straining at the knat and gulping down the camel. The lady was literally dumbfounded and ceased to answer my allegations. Later one of the employees said that the lady is real quiet at work. They said she sits at her desk and cries a lot. I guess some people may think that this is being mean, but when you get caught spreading the manure, you have pay the consequences. I have helped over 20 people out in the past 5 years. I have to say that it feels so good to help set others free. This is payback with a vengeance.

Who should we foremost render gratitude in regards to the ransom sacrifice?
by Desino inconsider jesus words in: matthew 20:28-29 (new international version).
"28 just as the son of man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.".
who gave his life for us?

I think you should render gratitude to the one that started the whole lying mess, Jehovah. He puts a man and a woman in the Garden of Eden who knew absolutely nothing, neither good or bad. They didn't have to know anything because in their little world there were no social temptations. Besides naming the animals, picking some fruit, and doing some gardening, they didn't have a lot to deal with. The only kicker was that tree in the middle of the garden, you know, the one that had the fruit of knowledge of GOOD and BAD. Jehovah then let a talking snake tell a naked woman she could be like God by eating from the fruit of a tree of knowledge of GOOD and BAD. Since she had never experienced good or bad and had basically been living like any other animal in the garden, she thought what the hell, knowing something might be nice for a change. By heck, they didn't even know they were naked. That B.S. is why good son Jesus had to come and rescue us from the screw up instigated by his evil father which happened 6000 years ago(forget science, DNA, archaeology, and common sense). So let's thank Jehovah for all the millions of animals sacrificed and their blood spilled to appease and unappeasable God because he got pissed off that the first humans found out what was good and bad and he even said in Gen.3 that they have become like us (Gods) knowing good and bad. I've got to kill them, and that's what he's been doing ever since. This is the crap you have to accept to believe the Jesus story and that whole ransom B.S.. If you really think about it, it's like reading fiction, and poor fiction at that. Instead of worrying giving someone gratitude try living a gratifying life and think outside the box.

What is the wackiest thing God has ever done?
by DannyBloem inis it killing 42 children because they called prophet elisha a bald headed man (which he probably was, so they did ot even lie)?.
is it killing 70000 innocent israelites because the king david does a counting of the people?

How about this one? God destroys the 2 wicked cities of Sodom and Gomorrah for things like beastiality, homosexuality, etc. and yet righteous Lot goes up into the cave, gets drunk and commits incest with his 2 daughters. Lot's wife got turned into a pillar of salt for looking back but if she'd gone up to the cave and joined the orgy, things would have probably been alright. Here's another one. In Ex.4:24-26, after God appoints Moses as his representative and gives him special powers, God then seeks to kill him because he forgot tell Moses he didn't like foreskins. This story is a real pisser.

Just what was Jesus doing until 1914?
by carla inwhat do jw's think jesus was doing until 1914?
and if satan is ruling everything now, what is jesus doing now?
(in jw minds) it seems to me they believe the 'gates of hell' have prevailed.

In a JWs mind Jesus has been king of the kingdom, governing his earthly organization and seeing whose being naughty or nice. I personally think he's doing what he's always done, absolutely nothing. Jesus and Santa have a lot in common, both are myths, but the myth of Santa accomplishes more than the myth of Jesus and his rulership since 1914.

What would it be like if I weren't brain washed for over 20 years?
by NiecyMe inhello...this is my first posting.
i heard about this web page from a friend that has a boyfriend that is trying to live life out of the clutches of jw's for the last 2 years.
i have found that even though i haven't been involved with jw's for about 10 years, thier nails run deep.

If you read my profile you'll see that you can't have a much deeper involvement in the JWs than I did. I have no regrets or feelings of guilt that I'm doing something wrong by celebrating birthdays or holidays. The only problem I've had is that because I didn't do these things for 49 years, sometimes its hard to get into the spirit of things that others have because they have participated since infancy. My two children who are 18 and 23 seem to have the same problem. I hope that when I have grandchildren I can see them truly enjoy birthdays and holidays. I wish I hadn't been brainwashed since infancy with the strictest of JW parents but life is good. Is your glass half full or half empty? I have a dear friend who came out of the JWs at 78. He tells me life is good and he is so glad to be free of the lies and guilt. He does christmas and holidays to a limited degree because of his wife who is still a JW. His only wish is that she and one of his daughers could get their heads screwed on straight and leave the JWs. He's thankful that one daughter and his grandchildren and great children are free of this mess. He's now 83 and going strong. Life is just life. It's what you do with it that counts. Count your blessings and live!!!!

JWD WAS ABLE TO CONVINCE ME THE PARADISE WAS A MYTH BUT...
by stillAwitness inthe talk given today sounded pretty convincing.
facts were stated about how our body is designed to live forever (the brain, blood vessels etc) and how all these intricated details about the human body raises us to ask the question: "did not jehovah design us with the purpose of living forever?
now i've read the threads about how there just would not be enough room in the world for all those people.

Paradise is indeed a myth. JH is too much of a literalist with his quotes from Ps. 37:10,11,29. If you do not understand Hebraic apocolyptic language, then how can you understand a literalist interpretation of Ps. 18:4-17? The WTS presumptuously takes liberty at telling us what is literal and what is symbolic as it cuts and pastes its way through the Bible. Isn't Ps 37 just another psalm of David? Is this not a form of writing where David exaggerates the outcome of the struggle of good against evil as he exaggerated his rescue by God in Ps. 18? This is just the beginning in the discovering of Biblical myths. Here are two more examples and all you have to do is research with an open and reasoning mind to find the answers. Adam and Eve and paradise 6000 years ago. (Absurd) Noachian flood 4,500 years ago (Note: The early stages of the Egyptian Empire predates the flood by over 500 years.) I can't tell you where to go to find the truth. From my research I was able to reasonably and logically separate fact from fantasy. My advice is first and foremost to be reasonable. Ask yourself what a loving and reasonable God would require of mankind. Would a loving God leave it up to our fellow man to tell us what he requires of us? In your own mind and heart can you reason that if man's salvation is so important that it requires serving God in a certain way, why hasn't God spelled out the rules of salvation for every human on this planet so there is no confusion? Religious differences create confusion, not God. If the Bible is God's book of salvation, why has he allowed it to be so misrepresented by all the religions that claim to have the only one truth? Why are christians so hated in other lands if they have lovingly represented the word of God? Rape, murder, torture, and theft at the hands of God's representatives have never worked well in the conversion of others. If they don't receive salvation, is God to blame? Since you were supposedly created in God's image with his attributes, would you eternally damn anyone under these circumstances? Looking into your heart and looking at your fellow man with love may reveal the answers you're looking for.
